How Engraving Looks Across Leathers

Engraving appears differently depending on the leather and color you choose. Dublin leathers produce higher contrast marks with more dramatic depth — the engraving reads boldly against the surface. Essex leathers produce cleaner, more refined marks with a slightly softer edge. Lighter colors (Natural, English Tan) show the most contrast. Darker colors (Old English, Brown Nut) produce a more tonal, subtle result that reads best up close.
